Rates and Insurance

Individual counseling session: $125 60-minutes
Therapy is an investment of your time, energy, and financial resources. We all invest into things that we want or that matter to us. If you’re seeking counseling, then you value health and well-being, and good relationships. The return on your investment will be a healthier you and better relationships!
Insurance
I’m considered an out-of-network provider with all insurances. This means that, you self-pay for your counseling services with me at the end of each session, and I provide you the invoice (called a “superbill”) that you may choose to submit to your insurance for your own reimbursement.
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it’s possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your insurance provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
- Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?
- Does my policy reimburse me if I choose to work with an out-of-network provider/counselor? And, if so, how much does insurance reimburse for therapy with an out-of-network counselor, and what portion is my responsibility (co-pay)?
- Do I have any other deductions/out of pocket responsibilities other than my deductible and co-pay?
- What’s the process for submitting my claim for reimbursement?
It’s important to know that in order to file a claim with your insurance company for individual psychotherapy, a mental health diagnosis must be reported. Claims without a diagnosis are denied. This is the reason for the invoice/”superbill” that I will provide to you – it will give you all the necessary information to submit your claim.
If you do not want a mental health diagnosis in your medical records history, then you may choose to not file claims for therapy.
Payment
I accept check, all major credit cards, and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards as forms of payment.
To schedule your initial intake appointment, a credit card is required to secure a reserved appointment hour.
Cancellation Policy
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time set aside especially for you, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required and appreciated for the rescheduling or cancellation of an appointment.
Late cancellation (less than 24 hours) or a No-show, results in a full fee charge to your card on file: $155 for the initial intake session; $125 for the individual therapy session.
This policy is applied to both in-office and tele-therapy sessions.
Please note that insurance does not reimburse you for missed appointments.
